The Cape

My family came to visit this past weekend and we took a trip down to Cape Lookout. I thought it would be a good time to start displaying my adventures here on my website and I am thinking this tab will be a good place to try that.

We took the ferry out of Harkers Island which is about a 15 minute ride, it stops at Shackleford Banks first, which is where the wild horses roam the island and then drops you off at Cape Lookout. Unfortunately the lighthouse wasn’t open yet to go to the top but the atmosphere on an uninhabited part of the Outer Banks is hard to capture in words and pictures but it is unique. I absolutely love this part of living in eastern NC. There is so much to explore and when you end up in a place like this it is something you need to experience.
