Colorado

For the last 4 years I have built up the idea of Colorado as the perfect place for me. Sunny 300 days of the year, the mountains, everything about it. I can honestly say that it lived up to my expectations. I got to go out there for 5 days because my friend Tanner is out there working for a couple months. So not only did I get to catch up with one of my best friends but we got to explore somewhere I have been dreaming about visiting.
We went to Rocky Mountain National Park which means I knocked a National Park off my list just 2 months into 2020, which is sick. We saw a lot of wildlife and hiking through the mountains with snow capped peaks was worth a little chill in the air.
Tanner worked a couple of the days I was there so I purchased a bus pass and explored downtown Denver. I highly recommend the Denver Art Museum. Shantell Martin had an exhibit while I was there, who I have known about since 2017 when Casey Neistat directed a video on her. The timing of that worked out well because I wouldn’t be familiar with many artists which made it even more interesting. When the weekend came around Tanner and I headed towards Estes Park and into Rocky Mountain National Park. We started with the Deer Mountain hike which was breathtaking. Then we headed over to do the Bear Lake hike. After we explored as much as we could driving in the park we headed out and had dinner at Bird & Jim. I really enjoyed this restaurant, and the views of the sunset behind the mountains was an added bonus to the good burger and beer. Another place we really liked was the Blue Moon Brewery in the RiNo District in Denver.
Rocky Mountain National Park is definitely somewhere I want to visit again. I would love to spend some time camping and backpacking there in the spring or summer and I only have good things to say about my trip. It was amazing.
Thanks,
Taylor
