Adventures at the Cape

(the gallery is below the post, keep scrolling)

This doesn’t get old, or at least it hasn’t yet. Gary Sanders, the OG adventure buddy from almost day one of moving to North Carolina. We’ve done some pretty gnarly stuff together. Yes, I said gnarly. It is the best word to describe downwind paddles 10 miles through the Intracoastal Waterway in 40° temperatures, with winds gusting at 35 mph. 4 day camping trips on uninhabited islands. Hurricane surf sessions, sharks not far from our boards and countless other adventures.

Life happens though and Gary isn’t the single guy living on a sailboat that I first met. He is married to a wonderful young woman and has a beautiful baby and is working on awesome things. So to say the least, I was pretty stoked when we were able to get together to go exploring the north end of Cape Lookout. I really needed to go on an adventure, because, well, life’s heavy sometimes and it’s an ideal situation when we are both wanting to wander around taking photos. I had a blast and that place continues to amaze me. Sometimes your standing there and just can’t get over how vast it is. It is an amazing place and I constantly think while I am there about how lucky we are that it’s protected as a National Seashore.

I am extremely happy with some of the photos I snagged while we were there and I am actually going to make some large prints for myself. Speaking of prints…..If you are a frequent flyer here, there has been a page titled prints that is currently locked. I am hoping to have it open by the end of September and you will be able to purchase prints from me. I am really looking forward to making them available.

Peace, Stay Healthy
